I love repeat clients; especially so I can see how the little ones are growing up! I’ve been shooting this family for a long time. I’ve been there from the womb to newborn and beyond. This time we went back up to Chautauqua Park to not only get some new family photos but to also add in a special announcement as well 🙂
I love repeat clients for so many reasons. That they like my work and I enough to come back time and time again, that I get to see their kiddos and family grow, that everyone is just that much more at ease with me when shooting because they know me. See? So many reasons 😉
I first did a 1st birthday session with the A family for their littlest and this time, their mom wanted to do some back-to-school photos since their oldest was starting at a new school. These boys are always on the go and while I did get some great ‘posed’ images, the more journalistic-lifestyle images we did the last part of the session were right up my alley.
Call me a dork but I’d been looking forward to doing this senior portrait session for a long time now! Not only have I been friends with Tayllor’s mom for a few years but she is also this insanely talented cake maker/decorator/extraordinaire. She did our wedding cakes (yes cakes plural…I had her make a surprise grooms cake for Dan) and has done countless baby shower and birthday cakes along the way. Anyway, I digress! Tayllor plays competitive softball and already has a scholarship to play in college so it was kind of a no brainer to do some of the session at a softball field.
We then moved over to the north side of the Boulder Reservoir. I used to take Finley swimming here every weekend way back in the day so I knew there were lots of awesome spots to do the rest of her session. The wildfires in the Pacific Northwest and California were going on then and the smoke in Boulder was insane but it helped add a little something extra to the images 😉
Congratulations on your senior year Tayllor!
This family is one of my favorites! My hubby used to work with Mendi and I’ve known her since I was pregnant with Selah so this is the 3rd session I’ve done with them (1st here) and the fist time I got to meet their littlest addition to the family. Their boys are the cutest things ever and always lookin’ good! We did their session at an awesome little gem, the Fly’n B Park, down in Highlands Ranch. This place has so many great backdrops in a small space so you have so much to work with!
